We are seeking an experienced and dedicated General Farm Manager to oversee the operations of our farm. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising farm workers, planning planting activities, overseeing harvesting processes, marketing the produce, and ensuring the overall care and maintenance of the farm. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership skills, excellent agricultural knowledge, and a passion for sustainable farming practices.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervise Farm Workers:

   • Manage and coordinate the activities of farm workers, ensuring efficient and effective farm operations.

   • Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and standard operating procedures.

   • Train and develop farm workers, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.

2. Plan Planting Activities:

   • Develop comprehensive planting schedules and crop rotation plans to optimize yield and ensure the farm's productivity.

   • Coordinate with agricultural specialists to select suitable crops, determine planting techniques, and assess soil conditions.

   • Monitor weather patterns and collaborate with the team to adjust planting schedules as needed.

3. Oversee Harvesting Processes:

   • Establish harvesting procedures, including timing, equipment usage, and quality standards.

   • Supervise and assist with harvesting activities, ensuring proper handling, storage, and packaging of harvested produce.

   • Conduct regular quality control checks to maintain the high standards of the farm's products.

4. Market Produce:

   • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the farm's produce and maximize sales.

   • Identify potential markets, build relationships with buyers, and negotiate sales agreements.

   • Monitor market trends and adjust marketing approaches to meet consumer demands.

5. General Caretaking:

   • Perform routine inspections of the farm's infrastructure, machinery, and equipment, identifying maintenance needs and coordinating repairs.

   • Manage the farm's budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.

   • Implement and promote sustainable farming practices, including soil conservation, water management, and pest control measures.

Requirements:​

• Proven experience in farm management

• In-depth knowledge of crop production, planting techniques, and harvesting processes.

• Familiarity with marketing strategies and experience in selling agricultural products.

• Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a diverse team.

Additionally, the candidate must be able to speak Sotho to establish classes for reverts in the surrounding village. This role requires strong teaching skills, deep understanding of Islamic principles, fluency in Sotho, and the ability to foster a nurturing and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Hifz Education:

   • Provide structured and comprehensive instruction in the memorization of the Holy Qur'an to students residing on the country estate.

   • Create individualized learning plans tailored to the needs and abilities of each student.

   • Conduct regular assessments to monitor students' progress and provide feedback for improvement.

   • Implement effective teaching methodologies and utilize appropriate educational resources to enhance the learning experience.

2. Islamic Education and Guidance:

   • Teach Islamic principles, including tajweed (correct pronunciation) and tafsir (interpretation), to deepen students' understanding of the Holy Qur'an.

   • Foster an atmosphere of respect, integrity, and discipline, instilling Islamic values and ethics in students' daily lives.

   • Act as a mentor and role model, guiding students in developing strong moral character and exemplary conduct.

3. Sotho Language Proficiency:

   • Be fluent in Sotho to establish and conduct classes for reverts in the surrounding village.

   • Develop a curriculum and teaching materials that accommodate the specific needs and cultural context of the Sotho-speaking reverts.

   • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for reverts, addressing their unique challenges and providing spiritual guidance.

4. Personal Development:

   • Encourage students to develop good study habits, time management skills, and a love for continuous learning.

   • Provide guidance and support to students in overcoming challenges and maintaining motivation throughout the memorization process.

   • Promote a positive and nurturing learning environment that encourages student engagement and active participation.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

   • Collaborate with other educators and staff members to create an integrated educational experience for students.

   • Maintain open lines of communication with parents or guardians, providing regular updates on students' progress and addressing any concerns.

   • Organize and facilitate periodic meetings with parents to discuss students' performance and seek their involvement in the learning process.

6. Record Keeping and Administration:

   • Maintain accurate records of students' progress, attendance, and assessments.

   • Prepare and distribute reports to students, parents, and estate management as required.

   • Assist in organizing and coordinating special events related to Islamic education and spiritual development.

Requirements:

• Qualification from a recognised institution

• Proficient in the memorization of the Holy Qur'an (Hifz) 

• Proven experience as a Hifz Ustaadh or Islamic educator, preferably in a residential or boarding school setting.

• Fluency in Sotho to establish and conduct classes for reverts in the surrounding village.

• Excellent teaching skills, with the ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with students of various ages and backgrounds.

• Patience, compassion, and the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best.

• Commitment to upholding Islamic values and promoting a holistic Islamic education.
