The smoke that will envelope the world in the last days...
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
All praise is due to Allah ﷻ, the Revealer of the Quran, the Mover of the clouds, the Defeater of the armies.
Allah ﷻ is the Knower of the Unseen and what is to come in the future. Nothing happens except by the will of Allah ﷻ. Every matter has been decided by Allah ﷻ and none can prevent His will and order.
May the choicest salawaat be upon the final Rasool of Allah ﷺ, the best of all creation who described to us the events that would occur in the last times of this world, and where would be the places of safety from the trials and tribulations.
We are now deep into the aakhir zamaan.
Muslim nations are being attacked and plundered day and night, and in spite of its numbers, the Muslim ummah at large cannot stop it.
Mothers have become slaves to their children
Once barely clothed, destitute, barefoot shepherds are now competing in building taller and taller buildings (in UAE, Qatar, Saudi etc)
The fitnah of the tv and screens has entered every home and every hand
Zina and drinking of alcohol is widespread, even in muslim countries
Earthquakes have increased
Bloodshed has increased
Knowledge is disappearing with the passing of great Ulamaa
Time is passing quickly
Tribulations and trials are prevailing worldwide
Lewdness, immorality and LGBT are the order of the day
Even one person fit to be an imam cannot be found in many places
People wish to rather be under the ground, and are committing suicide in large numbers
Many imposters are appearing simultaneously claiming to be the Mahdi
the Euphrates river has dried up
the Arab lands are becoming rivers and meadows
the tribe of Daws has already again worshipped the idol Dhul-Khulsah (occurred in the late 1800s)
The idols of Laat and Uzza are again being revered in the Arab lands
As these signs have already occurred, that fact is that very soon, the first major sign will appear, and it may be the دخان the smoke, that envelopes the skies
In Sahih Muslim, it is narrated that Hudhayfah ibn Usaid al-Ghifari (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet ﷺ came out to us when we were discussing. He said: “What are you discussing?” They said: “We are talking about the Hour.”
He ﷺ said: “It will never begin until you see ten signs before it.” He mentioned the smoke, the Dajjaal, the Beast, the rising of the sun from its place of setting, the descent of ‘Eesa ibn Maryam (عليه السلام), Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj, and three landslides, one in the east, one in the west and one in the Arabian Peninsula, and the last of that is a fire which will emerge from Yemen and drive the people to their place of gathering (Sahih Muslim, Book 041: 6931)
If this hadeeth also gives us an idea of the sequence, then the sign that may appear next is the smoke that will envelope the skies, and this may be the result of a nuclear war, which many say is about to happen within the next few months to a year.
Allah ﷻ alone knows best.
According to the scientists, a nuclear war will result in an ash cloud of toxic gases and smoke that will envelope the majority of the world, if not the entire world. This will result in what is known as a nuclear winter, where no crops will grow from the earth and temperatures will drop drastically around the world for a period of time.
This may be the dukhaan that is mentioned in the ahadeeth and the Qur'aan itself.
Allah ﷻ says regarding the "dukhaan" in the Quran
فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ ١٠ يَغْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ ۖ هَـٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ ١١ رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ ١٢
"So, wait for a day when the sky will bring a visible smoke - that will envelope the people - this is a excruciatingly painful punishment - (then they will say) "O Our Lord, clear this punishment from us, we are truly believers""
Two popular interpretations have been given regarding this verse, one is that this has not occurred as yet, and it is one of the signs to occur in the last days, as is shown by the hadeeth quoted above, mentioning the smoke amongst the ten signs to occur before the day of Qiyamah. This is the view of Abdullah ibn Abbas (RA) and his students
The second view is that it occurred in the time of the Prophet ﷺ when the Makkans suffered severe hunger and because of this weak and hungry condition they saw a smoky haze in the sky.
A further hadeeth supports the first view, where the Prophet ﷺ is reported to have said:
"I warn you against three things: one, the smoke which will only cause a cold in a believer, but will permeate the entire body of an unbeliever so much so that it will ooze out from every pore and tiny hole of the skin; the second is the beast; the third is dajjal" (Ibn Kathir)
It is interesting that this hadeeth uses the word "cold" for a believer. The after effects of a nuclear war and the smoke that results are what is referred to as a nuclear winter, when temperatures will drop drastically throughout the world and result in a lack of crops being able to grow in most of the regions. While those closer to the blast will be exposed to a painful radiation which "permeates" the entire body. May Allah save us. Aameen.
The words of the Quran, that it will "envelope" the people also supports the first view, as it implies that all the people will see it and be enveloped by it, not just one group.
Some mufassireen have added "وتكون الأرض كلها كبيت أوقد فيه النار" that the earth will become like a house wherein a fire has been lit
In one narration it is mentioned:
عن ربعي بن حراش قال : سمعت حذيفة بن اليمان يقول : قال رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - : " أول الآيات الدخان ، ونزول عيسى بن مريم ، ونار تخرج من قعر عدن أبين ، تسوق الناس إلى المحشر تقيل معهم إذا قالوا " ، قال حذيفة : يا رسول الله وما الدخان ؟ فتلا هذه الآية : " يوم تأتي السماء بدخان مبين " ، يملأ ما بين المشرق والمغرب يمكث أربعين يوما وليلة ، أما المؤمن فيصيبه منه كهيئة الزكام ، وأما الكافر فكمنزلة السكران يخرج من منخريه وأذنيه ودبره
Narrated by Rib'ee ibn Hiraash, that he heard Hudhaifa Ibnul Yamaan (RA) saying that the Prophet ﷺ said:
"The first of the signs (of the Hour) will be the (smoke) دخان, the descent of ‘Isa the son of Maryam (AS), and a fire that will emerge from the depths of Aden in Yemen, which will drive people to the place of gathering, resting with them whenever they rest.”
Hudhayfah (RA) then asked, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ , what is the دخان?"
The Prophet ﷺ recited this verse: ‘The Day the sky will bring forth a visible smoke’ [Quran 44:10].
"The دخان will fill the area between the East and the West, remaining for forty days and nights. As for the believer, it will affect him like a cold, while for the disbeliever, it will be as if he is intoxicated, with the smoke emerging from his nostrils, ears, and rear."
We should not be fooled, a nuclear war is coming. The dajjali forces want to detonate these bombs that they have built, and they have a depopulation agenda, so they welcome the death and destruction it will cause. They have already prepared their deep underground bunkers and stocked it for years and this is part of their plan and ritual for the arrival of Dajjal and attempted plan of destroying deen and Imaan.
The verse also describes this smoke as a "excruciatingly painful" punishment, which may correspond with the thermal burns and radiation sickness that occurs as a result of a nuclear fallout. May Allah ﷻ save us all from such a punishment.
The verses then go on to describe the supplication to Allah that will be made upon this: "O Our Rabb, clear this punishment from us, we are truly believers".
The mufassireen have commented that the Kaafireen when they see this will cry to Allah and express belief at this time. But this is also a duaa that can be read should any Muslim be caught up in the smoke, and ان شاء الله ﺗﻌﺎﻟﯽٰ through this there may be safety from the effects.
If the dukhaan is the effect of a nuclear ash cloud then there may be areas of the world that will be safer than others, further away from the blast site and these regions may be less affected and be able to start growing crops again sooner.
It is no wonder that the dajjali followers have been setting up bunkers in specific regions of the world, including New Zealand, and even South Africa, where many experts are saying you should move to, to avoid the effects of a nuclear fallout. Others are preparing bunkers deep underground in preparation.
It is well known that during the time of Dajjal, the Muslims will flee to the mountains to escape the fitnah and live safely. The mountains are also a place that will be less affected by nuclear fallout, as radioactive particles tend to concentrate at lower elevations due to atmospheric conditions, and the mountains offer a natural barrier.
They are also further away from the expected site of nuclear attacks.
In the last days there will only be two options, to throw yourself in the fight against evil under the leadership of the true Mahdi or to isolate yourself in the mountains and worship Allah ﷻ.
It has been narrated:
A man asked: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ , which of men is the best?
Heﷺ replied: A believer who fights with his life, and spending his wealth in the way of Allah.
He asked: And then who? He said: then is a man who lives an isolated life in a mountain gorge, worshipping his Lord and sparing the people from his ill.
Any sincere Muslim who is concerned about their deen and the deen of their families can see what is happening the world, and how the fitnah is penetrating deeper into our everyday lives. This is the time of preparation, for both scenarios, the one where we have to fight and repel the evil, and the one where we have to establish places of safety, in the mountains, just as the ashaab-e-kahf, for our families and progeny for the survival of deen for the future.
In addition we have to become self sufficient, and break the chains of food and other forms of slavery that are upon us. This can only be done if we grow our own food, rear our own animals, secure our own water sources, generate our own power and establish ourselves to live safely and independently.
